Excelling at CEG
The academy has been recognised by Careers England for a number of years now as a leading example of how schools and local businesses can work together to provide students with valuable skills and experiences
Described as a school with “excellent CEIAG provision” Mr Ward Assistant Head Teacher and Mrs Todd Careers and Employability Coordinator were invited down to London to speak at a conference hosted by Paul Chubb MBE, Director for Quality in Careers Standards.
The conference “Excelling at Careers Education and Guidance” aimed to give delegates a clear understanding of CEIAG legislation, the demands from employers and the labour markets, how to establish effective partnerships with employers and work-based learning providers and the benefits of quality assuring contributions to CEIAG to boost progression opportunities for pupils and students
Mr Ward and Mrs Todd delivered a 45 minute presentation on “managing effective employer engagement in CEIAG”. The presentation showcased the excellent partnership working the academy has with local businesses and how the employer engagement programme is embedded in the curriculum throughout the academy from year 7-13.
