Thursday 18th October – Year 7/Year 10 Tutor Evening
Our Year 7 and 10 Tutor Evening is a great opportunity for parents to meet individually with their son or daughter’s tutor. Tutors will be sharing how the students are settling into the fresh challenges that the new academic year brings.
Our first parent evening is specifically for these two year groups because for Year 7 it is important we assess how they have settled into their new surroundings and how we can support transition further. For Year 10 we want an early ‘temperature check’ on how they are progressing in a new stage of their education; starting their KS4 qualifications.
On the evening, a variety of information will be shared with respect to progress through the first term, attendance targets and quality of homework. As an academy, we pride ourselves on developing fantastic relationships with parents and this evening goes a long way in ensuring all stakeholders are pulling in the same direction.
Our Heads of Year will be recognising outstanding performance in the first term by meeting parents to share these early success stories. Tutors will also be addressing any concerns that may arise and looking to support students in resolving them as quickly as possible.
Following feedback from parents, in order to best support our students and parents we have updated our homework policy. We are providing parents with a homework timetable that will support students and parents in planning and organising so that all students can be successful in their home learning. Mr Griffiths will share a short demonstration of this system on the evening in one of our new ICT suites.
If you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact Mr Adlington or Mr Lloyd-Richards.
