Year 9 take park in the Lincoln College Skills Road Show. Trades from a variety of industry sectors challenge the students with a range of hands on activities designed to test their skills and knowledge. This fast paced action pack activity provides the students with the chance of obtaining information on a range of careers to help support them make well informed option choices for Key Stage 4 and beyond.
Year 10 take part in a work-related learning and enterprise day designed to broaden the knowledge of a range of careers and prepare them for the start of a journey into the world of work. Employers deliver workshops talking to the students about skills, qualities and qualifications needed for their area of work and setting them practical tasks to complete.
Employers including Selenity, Lindum Group, DAF Ford and Slater, Ivor Hallam Motor Engineers, Bridge McFarland Solicitors, NHS, Lincolnshire Police, Lincolnshire Cooperative Ltd, Sewell Photography, Burton Water Leisure and Praxair UK attend supported by FE Colleges including Lincoln College and Bishop Burton.
Year 11 take part in an interview skills morning designed to encourage students to sell themselves in a ten minute interview. Students complete a “this is me” document which is then handed to the employers prior to the interview. Employers base their questioning around this profile. Employers involved include Selenity, Lace Housing, RAF, Lindum Group, Lincolnshire Cooperative , Lincoln College, Bridge McFarland Solicitors, BG University and Job Centre Plus
