Work Experience Programme

Work Experience Programme

Our Year 12 students take part in a week of work experience in January. Work Experience is a joint partnership between the academy, Tony Crowe Health & Safety Services and employers.

Preparation and planning for this week start in September with a parent’s information evening.

There is a small careers fair involving local employers who are available to talk to parents about work experience opportunities they offer and why they get involved in work experience.

Students from the previous year’s programme talk about their experience, the skills they have developed, knowledge gained and how it has helped shape their future plans.

Parents have the opportunity to understand why school runs this programme and raise any questions/concerns they may have.

As part of the programme students take part in

  • Health & Safety Seminar
  • Briefing and Debriefing Sessions
  • Celebration Assembly to award Work Experience Certificates
